Hello! It's a new year! Yay! I guess.
What's happened since my last post in June? A lot. Chief among them is: I quit my programming job. For several reasons. Suffice it to say I learned that it was not a nice place. I can put up with a lot. "The world's not fair, you should get used to it." Yeah. Trust me. It was not a healthy workplace...
So what does that mean? I've got enough money saved up for a couple more months of unemployment, so I'm trying a few things. First, I'm learning new coding concepts. My goal is to learn things that are actually useful in the world, unlike my previous job. (Maybe make a game?) Second, I've been writing. I've been warming up with background stories for my Ponyfinder characters. I hope to start an actual book in an original setting once I finish a few of these character stories. (And post them!)
Third, and most relevant to DeviantArt, I've been drawing again. Not much post-worthy yet, but soon. I actually hope to perhaps open requests and/or commissions at some point. I would love to be able to do enough of these three things (coding, drawing, and writing) to work for myself from home. We'll see. That'd be incredibly difficult.
I've got a schedule rotation going. Hopefully, things will start posting regularly in the next week or so. I hope. (Oh gosh, I hope so... Self-motivation and self-discipline is what makes or breaks plans like this. My performance has only been... Well. Not great. Not horrible. It's been fair.)
